Extended warranty cost????
I had my C300 in for repair this week...the air conditioning wasn't cooling like it should.
Turns out to be an "O" ring which probably cost pennies. Of course you can't just change out an "O" ring. You have to add freon, dye, diagnose it, pump it, replace the ring, vacuum the system, ....you get the idea. The ring was probably defective at time the car was built. I asked the service rep how much would it have cost had it not been covered by warranty. He said $400-$500.
When I purchased my car, I didn't get the extended warranty. I understand that towards the end of my warranty, I can still get the warranty. I've got 37,000 miles on my C300 (if that matters). What did you guys pay for the extended warranty and what does it cover and for how long.

My experience from OE extended warranty from years back is that OE ones have several levels of coverage.
Overall OE ones are way better than 3rd party in practice.
Worth every penny if planning on keeping the car beyond warranty period.
An MB dealer will have all the details.

extended warranty
Have heard each dealer can negotiate pricing.
Was given a name of Lisa Lehrbaum @ 530-893-1300 Courtesy Motors N.Cal as a contact that was Best price.
I think you can purchase anywhere and use locally. I have a call into her to see what she has to say . When I get more info I will post.

Might a group buy on an extended warranty get the price down even further for forum members? Please ask your contact when you call her.

Wouldn't mind if we start a group buy for extended warranty..have a 06 c230 and 08 c300 that will participate if a good deal is to be had for OE extended warranty..

I'm pretty sure a "group buy" won't bring down Lisa's numbers on GENUINE MB Extended Warranties by that much (if at all)... but it depends on the warranty package you go with (different packages are priced differently) and the year/model car you're buying it for (different years/models have different pricing). I bought 2 x 7yr/100K GENUINE MB Extended Warranties for my 2009 E350's at the same time, and it didn't make a difference for me. Fielding these MB Extended Warranty requests is something Lisa does "on the side" apparently, and isn't her primary task at the dealership (which is why it can be difficult to get a hold of her sometimes, but also why she doesn't charge that much for MB Extended Warranties compared to most other dealers, and no dealer that I've found could beat her price selling the warranties alone... even by $0.01).
