Pano roof = less safe?

Since the pano roof is mostly glass, does that compromise the safety in the event of a rollover?

Even a sunroof requires a little bit of structural integrity compromise, but it shouldn't be bad enough to drastically reduce safety. There will be more glass, yes. Will the roof collapse on you? No.

Has MB said anything about the pano roof officially that states it is just as safe as the normal moonroof?

Not that I have heard. What's your main concern? That the glass will cut you or that the roof won't hold up? I can assure you that if the pano roof wouldn't hold up, Benz wouldn't install it. They do extensive testing.

I did a European deliver on my 2017 GLC and toured the factory. During the tour we watched as they installed the panoramic roof on a car (not a GLC). The tour guide mentioned that the panoramic roof increases the structure integrity of the car vs one without a panoramic roof. I did not ask how, but it is installed as a single unit covering the whole top of the roof and maybe somehow provides increased rigidity to the roof?
