Yeah 105hp is just "a little" more power.

People like you make cars like the W204 look bad. I'm sure since daddy bought himself a C350, he can afford to buy you a Honda Civic. That's definitely the forum you belong on.

Are you kidding? BMW 1 series... dude that car is one of the gayish cars a straight man can buy along with the mini copper, and VW new bettle. That car is for females, I would consider the 328i but no way 1 series.

P.S I'm assuming you are straight otherwise sorry if I hurt your feelings.

135 is a great track car. Don't just judge a car by it's appearance.

hahaha idk i just look for a car that looks pretty good and has the power to back it up to get that driving experience. 135i doesnt really have that great of a look but does have some power. still not sure yet going to visit Mb of Newport today and see what kind of offers they have and might test drive the Manual c300 to see how much i like it compared to the automatic. still closer to getting the c300 them M3 because not sure if i wana but a used car again since may last used car which was a disaster of a Lexus is300 -_- too many problems maybe it was just that i didnt examine it good enough or what not but expecially with a german engineered i dont want to get a car that has to be fixed alot because if it does have to get fixed alot it is gunna cost a butt load! i found a M3 for 22500 6 speed manual for 22500 only down fault of this is it is a 2005 with 68k miles :[ good deal but my experience with cars with way mroe miles then they should have are bad...... so hoping a New C300 will treat me better if i do decide on the C300

2009 E350
Interesting reading this thread, because my wife drives an IS350. She loves it and calls it "her" car and the E350 is "his" car, meaning she won't drive the Mercedes anymore. She considers our E an old man's car. Is a C series real sporty? I'm guessing my wife wouldn't look at one. She keeps saying she'll try the 335i next.

In my 20s, I only drove stick shift. Coupes and sedans. Loved manuals but now that I'm in my 40s with weekends taken up with family stuff, I no longer drive for pleasure. It's gotta be an automatic. If I was young and single, it has to be stick.

Do you plan to keep this car until the wheels fall off? Stick shift sedans aren't easy to sell. Been there, done that. I think there's demand for used coupes with stick but I found it hard with a sedan.

If cost of maintenance is important, I expect our Lexus will be much better than Mercedes.

I was thinking, if I was 18-20 again, what would I get? Civic Si comes to my mind because it should be a lot of fun, is reliable and easy to mod. At that age, I loved the MR2 I had.

hahahaha! danm 335i i would get that if parents would spend that much on me haha but 30k max is my limit but i am probably going to go with auto because that is true i dont think their will be a big demand on manual c class in 5-10 years which is about the time i will proably sell my car.

hey all of you guys i just got back from the Mercedes benz dealer ship from Newport been going around to other mercedes dealerships too like buena park well i got quoted and basic package they said they would try to beat the other mercedes of buena parks price of 29499. so basically they are going to sell me a 2009 mercedes c300 Silver for 29499 or maybe a little less BASIC package with one exception they will add in AMG wheels for me. does it seem like a good deal or think i should keep shopping around for a better deal.

Just wow.

The car enthusiast side of me would go with the M3, I think it's the hottest looking of the bunch, and IMO will tickle your "enthusiast" sides fancy more, as it's a more exclusive and exciting car. The C300 is a nice little Sedan, but it's still the bottom of the barrel M-B, and there's an exact clone or 3 at every corner, the M3 also commands some more respect.

The rationale side of me might be swayed though, as the M3 can be a nightmare to own if you get unlucky. Just do your homework and get a good, and well inspected one if you go with it. I was gonna get an E46 M3 as a second car, but got scared away, as I'd probably be using it for lots of high mileage driving.

I'm not a Lexus fan and wouldn't get one personally as a primary car, so for me it would be ruled out, but the IS is a good and reliable car, also it has a much more comfortable, quiet, and refined interior and feel over the W204 IMO, 204 to me is a bit too crude for an M-B.

For me it would come down to the C or the M3, it would depend on whether I was feeling more evil or angelic that day.

Hey sunnySD....don't give up on fun! After a couple of decades of company cars...all with automatics...I made my dealer find my manual trans C300 three states away. This is my (first) retirement car, about ten years ahead of you...and I'm enjoying every minute. When you wrote you'd get a stick if you were young and single...that's not a stage of life...that's just your heart yelling at your head...don't stop listening!

I love the 135i. The power is explosive and it's so much more communicative than any Benz (W203 or W204) I've had time with. But it's not practical, not great on gas.. really just meant to be fun.

+1. If you haven't driven one, reserve your judgment. It's a really fun car to drive.

If you're really considering an M3 but not the C63.. wtf?

Also, if you're looking at the price range, test drive a jaguar as well, the dealership discounts when I went were huge, $20k off $72k which made them suddenly very affordable.

M3 and C63 are very different breeds. Not to mention, he is considering the last generation M3.

He's talking about an e46 M3, not the E90. e46 M3 you can get for $20-30k.

I did look at the 135i (I like them a lot) before going with the ///M...I will say going from my gas sipping 05' C230 I-4... my M3 can suck down the fuel, but I knew that was the case before I decided to buy it(it's my DD).I love the raw feeling the M3 has...it just gets your heart pumping... a blast to drive...the harder you drive her the more she likes it...

Tonydinh, so did you get anything yet? Tell Fletcher Jones you're going to Laguna Niguel and vice versa. They hate that.

Lilbenz, I can't stop laughing about your comment that car x isn't practical. None of these mentioned are practical. Want something practical? Get a Corolla. Something bigger? Get a Camry. Need to haul stuff, F150. Are we buying these kinds of cars only for fun?

Sportstick, looking for the day when I'm an empty nester if it means I get to be like an 18 year old again! I'll be an 18 year old again with a college tuition again (yes, I paid my own way through college with a military obligation).

My C230 begs to differ on the practical side. With a nice backseat, 32mpg highway, perfect reliability.. it's as practical as any Honda I've owned. I'd expect no less from a C300 or C350. The 135i is clearly a fun car.
