Installed Clear Side Markers; NOT HAPPY (Pics Included)

Sunday night I ordered a pair of clear side markers from 9555519. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...=STRK:MEWNX:IT I just got it today, 4 days after I ordered. I was told the side markers didn't have a black line around it by a MBWorld member before I ordered, but it turns out it did. I opened the box and took a look at the side markers. The line around it was was suppose to be black, well...it was MOSTLY black. There were bits of silver paint on the line! Unsatisfied before I even installed it... So I went to put it on my car and when I did, it didn't fully go in! All along the back edge of the marker, the edge didn't completely fit. This made me furious! I didn't even put the 2nd one on because I was so unsatisfied with the quality of these.

Here's a picture mainly focusing on the line. Kinda blurry because I put the camera a little close to it. But you can see how the black line around it was not completely black.

Here's the picture showing the back edge that did not go in. Again, it's a little blurry. Sorry.

I wanna order goodstuffs4u0904's clear side markers, but before I do, someone PLEASE tell me they are of good quality. Not like these pieces of crap. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2008-...=p4506.c0.m245

Best shot I can get of the edge of Goodstuff's smoked marker. Just installed a few days ago. I am very happy, but not sure if we have the same standards!

Are goodstuff's side markers the ones that come with the chromed bulbs?

Holy cow! That IS a huge gap. I have a pair of smoked markers coming in the mail and really hope the fit is much better. Goodstuff, however, is top-notch in terms of communication and customer service. And yes, he does have chromed-amber bulbs available. I bought the front and rear signal bulbs at the same time.

The quality looks on par for aftermarket crap lenses. There's a 203 C-Class in my shop right now that has aftermarket clear lenses that have HORRIBLE "fitment".

.
Mine (with black lines) fit quite snug with very minimal gaping. But then again, my car is Iridium and on a darker car, the gap will be pronounced.

Tha tone reason why I didnt go with that one, because I didnt like the black lines around it. Mines fit well, and no one really pays attention to the fitment unless it really big, but the gap is always that bottom corner, even the oem one has a small gap.

With the number of people who have bought from both vendors with no previous reports of big gaps, I'm hoping Richard's and Pining's markers are the out-liers and not the norm.
With the discerning attention to detail this board has, big gaps like that surely would've been mentioned before?

At least a couple of possibilities here, as we both used the same seller and I have no gap. They may have changed suppliers, their supplier may not have good control of the manufacturing process, or your part is not fully snapped into the inner bracket. If you can confirm your installation, then they should be exchangeable, as they are significantly different from others Goodstuffs has sold.

Did you leave the buyer feedback?

I am sure you could have the markers either exchanged or refunded.

Is it the same on both sides? I just have a sense to check that both lower clips stayed seated properly when you rotated the top of the unit to click into position.

Hi guys, just a quick question..
If you put the clear side markers on, are the bulbs inside visible?
Because I just bought a LED light (not a bulb) for the side marker light but I am concerned whether it will be visible or not....

If the LED is clear, it won't be visible.
But the orange ones that came with my crappy side markers were so noticeable.
Another reason why I hate it.

I have not left feedback yet because I have to wait 7 days to give negative feedback.
The seller also says no refunds on the auction.

The item he sold you doesn't fit how could he tell you that he won't refund the money? At least have him exchange it . . If he refuses than take it up with paypal. DO NOT threaten to leave bad feedback.

Did you pay by paypal? If so, you win. Doesn't matter what dealer says regarding no refunds, paypal will always cover the buyer. I've called paypal before and they've told me it's their policy to generally side with buyers in disputes and just refund the payment after you return the product. You basically eat the return shipping cost, but that's it.

white and whiter
if you guys haven't noticed. the oem amber one is also the same crap fitting junk. and all the UC spec bumper cut-out for the side marker are cut after the bumper's already produced. that's why they all fit like crap IMO.

I have the DEPO clear version btw.
