I know it is a bad idea to drive without a spare, but i am just curious.... do any of u drive without your spare to save weight in the vehicle? If you have AAA its not really that big of a deal if u get a flat i guess...
i was lining the inside of my spare compartment with sound dampening material today and was just thinkiing of not putting it back in to save about 50 pounds...

Two of our three cars did not have it on day one. They came with the tire fix kit. I would take the small compressor at least with me if the car originally came with a spare and you take it out.

You guys have got to be crazy. I guess I have been in situations where AAA or MB Service would take hours to get to me when all I needed was 5-10 mins to change a tire and get on my way... I doubt the tiny fuel savings and very, very little boost in acceleration would be worth a couple hours sitting on the side of the road somewhere hoping that the local guy will be able to get to me soon.

I'm not going to be stranded because I cheapened up on carrying a spare.
If I was serious about shedding 40 lbs, I'd go on a diet.

I don't see the point in removing the spare and installing run-flats. If you do it for better handling from less weight, run flats would make it worse a lot more than the reduced weight would help. If you do it for fuel economy, run flats would add fuel consumption a lot more than the reduced weight would save.

The only time the spare comes out is when I am racing Lambos

I read somewhere on one of these boards that the spare tire was actually figured into the crash test results. When they rear-end these cars, the tire acts as part cushion to help reduce the likelihood of the front of the offending car from becoming a back seat passenger in your car. Can't find the post now, but it's out there someplace....

My spare is in there, but it might as well not be because I have never had to change a spare and dont even know how to.
No use getting my hands all black when I can call someone else to do it for me and never had a completely blown out tire before *knock on wood*, just small leaks which I can get to a gas station

i bought a c class not an s class and i am obviously not rich...
budgets are not a bad thing, even if u have a good amount of cash flow
