Carlsson C tronic? Why just in diesel?
Any idea why Carlsson makes this for the Diesel vehicles but not for gasoline vehicles?

"C-Tronic® Diesel ECO – reduced consumption and higher torque
With the C-Tronic® Diesel ECO, Carlsson has developed a supplementary control unit that allows drivers of Mercedes-Benz diesel vehicles to reduce diesel consumption by around 10%. At the same time, they benefit from an increase in torque of around 15%, without impacting the rated output!
The increased torque allows the driver to change gears sooner and downshift later when driving in hilly terrain. This applies to vehicles with both manual and automatic transmissions. The resulting reduction in engine speed and the associated lower-rev style of driving leads to improved fuel economy of up to 10%. Due to the lower fuel consumption and the resulting reduced level of emissions, the C-Tronic® ECO also helps to protect the environment. Road tests and standardized TÜV measurements confirm Carlsson’s figures in practice. The increase in torque of around 15% translates into improved pulling power over the entire torque band, which in turn helps to enhance safety when accelerating (e.g. when overtaking), coupled with greater driving pleasure, too.
Improved fuel economy – It’s proven
Europe’s largest car magazine Auto, Motor & Sport (issue 25/2005) and the associated publication Sport Auto (special issue 2006) prove in tests conducted with a B-class 200 CDI equipped with Carlsson C-Tronic® that overall consumption is reduced by around half a liter, and even by up to 1.9 liters per 100 km in the case of fast highway driving. The two car magazines also confirm a simultaneous improvement in acceleration and pulling power and, associated with this, significantly enhanced driving pleasure. Carlsson makes rapid locomotion possible without any regrets!
With its C-Tronic® Diesel ECO, Carlsson demonstrates that today’s tuning does not necessarily imply excessive performance boosts and protruding spoiler conversions. On the contrary, the eco-tuning from Carlsson constitutes an important contribution to conserving natural resources. At the same time, this Merzig-based, high-class tuning specialist shows that vast potential still lies untapped even in series technology.
In terms of the hardware and software, the C-Tronic® supplementary control units are completely Carlsson-engineered. Carlsson thereby proves once again in impressive style its technological leadership in the field of engine performance enhancement.
Carlsson’s C-Tronic® Diesel ECO is available for Mercedes A, B, C, E and S-class models in addition to the Vito/Viano."[/I][/I]

Audi A4 1.9 TDI 2002, MB C200 CDI 2004, MB C220 CDI 2009
My C220 CDI is first new car I bought.
I had about 7 cars before, all second hand (4 Diesels).
I will never buy a second hand car which has been chip tunned because I am convinced that messing with the original settings will lower the life of the car increasing wear on almost all mechanical parts.

I don't think the diesel engines are naturally aspirated. It's easier to increase hp and tq by increasing boost and remapping fuel and timing in a turbo- or supercharged engine.

"thanks for your interest in our products. Unfortunately we have no actual plans to offer a ECO version of our gasoline performance kits. This has two main reasons. First of all the possible reduction in consumption is not so high as with diesel engines and it is also because the normal gasoline customers have their priority on performance."

Why just diesels
The mod market for gasoline powered cars in comparison is probably not worth getting into.
