I never thought this was possible!! Yesterday I found a brand new 330i roaming the streets of cairo searching for a kill! I know for fact that i stand no chance against him in a straight line. But then I decided to give it a shot.

I came nearby and follow the link to know what happened

Note: The video is short and blurred cause i had to do the shooting while driving! We made 3 attempts,,,the last one was the only one expressive i guess

forgot to mention that my opponent wasnt alone in the 330...he had a friend weighing more than 100 kg...but I chose to believe that this wasnt the reason i won

I know the C280 = US C300

is the Egypt market 330i the 268hp version? or the is it the 328i's 230hp engine badged as 330i?

the 230hp 3.0L badged as 330i is the only logical reason C280 can run with it imo. The 330i with the old 255hp version or the newer 268hp version is much quicker.

Compare Egyptian spec cars to Germany or Europe but not to US ...Thats said,,u r right the C280 is equivalent to the C300 in the states....Its 231 Bhp exactly..

On the other hand, the 330i had the newest BMW 3.0L 272 BHP...And thats why i was surprised when i won... Furthermore,,I guess the C-class is much heavier then the 3-series...

Note: I am sure it was a 330i....here in Egypt,,we don't have a lot of varieties to choose from...The series comes with 3 engines,,,318i,320i and 330i.....And the differences are clear...I am 100% sure it was a 330i model 2010 (face lift)

if that's the 272bhp 330i there's no way C280/300 has any chance unfortunately.

No chance...I raced one thinking it was a 328 (e90) but when it smoked me then I knew I messed with the wrong car. I mean it had 3-4 maybe 5 cars once we reached to 80 mph and it was still pulling.

OP: The 330 is no joke. I don't know about the 2010 models but an 06 I raced once and with the new model with the extra horsepower the 350 will have a tough time beating it.

I'm not saying it is impossible or calling you a liar but I have a feeling maybe the engine wasn't broken it?

It was your automatic against his bad shifting I'm guessing. There are far too many people in BMWs with sticks who suck at racing with a stick.

Maybe the Bmw is 320 (155 hp) and re-badged to 330 ??
No way the C280 (231 hp) can beat the 330 (272 hp).
If u r sure it is a 330, 100% its a driver bad action.

After I smoked him, we stoped and I checked his car inside out...100% its a real 330i with 272 BHP and an automatic gearbox.... brand new with no licence plates on

He told me he got it 5 hours before i met him.... I have always feared that car and avoided many encounters before...I have another friend who has one,,,I might be able to give it another go this week

Sounds like the BMW driver was still quite unfamiliar with the car . When you race your other friend, get the jump on him or you may be staring at his tailpipes pretty quick.,

EDIT: 8 Days until my C350 turns into a CK35 and I don't have to worry about BMW drivers so much anymore!

Wow, I also have a E90 330i and never lost to my C300. I got some friends to drive my car and the E90 never lost. Though i like the C300 better for some odd reason.

I'll tell you it's a fact the c350 will beat the 330i from 0-60, 1/4 mile or from any highway speed. My brother has a e90 330i and I've never lost a race with him. The twisties are however another story. The BMW has the advantage all day long.

The argument is between a 300 vs 330 and 350 vs 335

That might explain it...car is brand brand new...engine and transmission not broken into...i do have to say...thats probably the worst way to break in one's engine
