Audio Fadeout - Volume?

Audio Fadeout - Volume?
I just got back from the dealership with my car - got the firmware update for my system and now have the audio fadeout option in my navigation. Happily, I had my car guide me back to my house, but I didn't notice the audio fadeout doing anything. In my old '06 model, I heard the volume of the radio lower everytime the voice guidance came on. Not the case here...
Do I have to set the volume somehow for the radio when the guidance starts talking? I tried the volume *** and volume +/- buttons on the steering wheel to no avail. Help?

w00t! I got it working. Seems it only lowers the volume if the radio volume is up... should function properly when I'm on the highway with excess noise from the dumbo ears lol.
