REST function in 204?

It is getting fairly cold here and today when I went for the REST button i couldn't find it. I have this function in all my other MBs even the w203. Does the 204 not have this feature?

No. Not in USA W204 - Sad :..(

I had the Rest feature in my W203. It was awesome! When you leave your car to go shopping or whatever - You can press a button on the HVAC and it will contune to circulate the heat. It was amazing - after almost an hour, the car was still warm inside! I too was disappointed not to find it in my W204 the first time I searched for it on a cold day.

I remember reading something about how the complexity of the REST function was one of the biggest reasons it was axed for the W204. I guess I can understand that but I don't understand why they canned Tunnel mode.

Errrr not sure why you guys don't have the "REST" function, but its on my C350. It's next to the A/C button on the HVAC controls on the right.

Sadly, no. I used it all the time in my W202 and W203. Just another casualty of the MB bean counters.

It functioned as follows: Upon pressing the REST button, the heater fan ran on low, the electric aux water pump operated to keep circulation up, and the heater duo-valve operated to keep the temperature near where it was set. This is in outside temps lower than inside. When it was warmer outside, only the fan runs, again on low. The limits of operation are: 30 minutes or if battery voltage dropped below a predetermined point or if water temp dropped below another predetermined point. Re-pressing the button or engine start cancelled it.

Worked very well on cold or hot days.

REST function is not on the new C300 /C350 or any of the W204 model
i know the button come in handy if you need to shut the car and keep the interior warm for 30 mins and if you need to park the car for less than 30 mins so that when you come back..the interior still warm.

living in Toronto, the Rest button is a plus for Winter

I'm not sure why i don't have it on my C300 2008? Is this come with the package as I got mine on Dec 2007 and the first 200 cars that get deliver in Greater Toronto Area.

I couldve used that when I lived in New England. Cool feature. Good thing I don't need it now or I wouldve been jealous.

I think it's standard on the 3-series still... Wonder why MB DID take it out!

REST function IS available on W204 models. Don't know why you don't have it in yours, but its in my C350 and its available in the UK as well as per Mr Enigma's comment.

I guess it is one of those things some countries get and others don't. Thanks for the replies guys, I will now take comfort knowing I am not the only one.

I have the 2009 C63 in Canada, and I do not have it.

In the Netherlands , you can order two types of heating/airco systems: Thematik and Thermotronic. Only the Thermotronic version has the REST function.

As far as Iv heard, tunnel mode was cancelled for North America due to a law suit in the US. Someone must have claimed injury for a kid with the arm out when the windows went up.

Same for mexican W204s. The C350 Luxury like mine have it, but the rest of the models does not.
