Camber Issues...

I went to a local shop today to get my inspection taken care of and while I was there I asked if they could do an alignment. So they pull my car in the shop and about ten minutes later the tech comes in the waiting room and tells me that there are no adjustments in the rear for camber...

I have extremely negative camber in the rear only and already blew threw my 1st set of tires in about a summer. I was curious if anyone has any tips other than to raise the car up...or if anyone knows if a rear camber kit is available for the car.

TIA---

no adjustable camber arms are currently available, but there was talk of making one from one of the vendors I'm familiar with.

On the same topic, if I was to lower the car with H&S sport or super sport springs would the camber still be within original specification limits. This post is making me re-think lowering my car. I did not know you couldn't adjust camber in the rear.

If you've dropped the suspension and it's eating tires now, I would raise it back up without thinking twice and recheck the camber. If it's still off, I would take it to Mercedes for a warranty repair and return the lowering kit with a nasty letter and a copy of the repair invoice.

Lowering 1/5 to 1 inch is fine. None of my European cars had rear adjustments. As long as I kept the lowering reasonable, I had no problems.

If you want function, do it right. If you want slammed, poked or tucked, be prepared to pay, and be ready for a poor ride and bad handling.
