what, the star?
its a three prong plastic pin system with plastic sleeves (there are three plastic pins on the back of the star that just snuggly fit into the three holes in the car's trunk)
they are all located at the very center of the star..
to remove for buffing, get a straw and carefully slide it under the star and work it towards the middle to carefully lift and release the star out of the peg holes...
hope this makes sense

one more for you... i have the mesh off the foglights... trying to turn the white bulb holder to get the foglight bulb out... i;m supposed to turn the white part counter clockwise?
and how hard was this to do... :\
