C180K 1.6 good to go
I picked up my C180K blueefficiency two weeks ago. Learning that the engine was a 1.6 gave me pre-purchase worries about power and performance. The test drive had already convinced me that the sport model had a firm grip on the road. I didn't get a chance to really stretch its legs and reading forums where the 320i 4 cylinder outperformed the new 1.6 engine had me concerned. I even posted a thread asking about performance boosters before I even owned the car in question (Kleeman apparently makes an exhaust for this model).
All my fears were rubbed away when I pressed the accelerator on the first straight. Now don't get me wrong, I've never driven the C200k, C300, etc. and I'm sure those engines are relative powerehouses. But, I have driven a 2008 320i for a long period of time and let me tell you, There is no way in hell the 4 cylinder 320i can outperform the 1.6 supercharged engine.
If you're driving needs require consistent speeds of over 100 miles per hour, or if you want to street race, or track day, then this may not be the car for you (Kleeman here I come). But, for the price and for the luxuries that any Mercedes would bring with it, I am completely satisfied. Oh yeah...the savings at the pump isn't bad either.

MBWorld Fanatic!
Great to hear of a satisfied customer. The 1.6 supercharged engine must be very efficient as you would expect of MB. Hope your cricketers live up to your expectations in Australia too!!
