2011 C Coupe

Is the suspension somehow different for the E version? Softer perhaps? Is the C version a better road handler? What would distinguish these two sisters?
Today I stopped by a dealer and poked around the new E class, sedan and coupe. When I mentioned I was interested in how the coupe looked compared to my C, the sales manager started into his spiel about how this was an entirely new car and how it was not related in any way to the C. And certainly not based on the C chassis. Um?
Looking into the car, sitting in it, etc. gives the very strong impression that the E coupe is a rebodied C. The interior is a good fit (front only) for the C, including a different dash but with similar proportions, and the console that looks lifted from the C with leather folding panels instead of the stuff we get. The seats are surely different, but look like they might fit. Oddly the interior narrows to let the shoulder belt mount be useful, and the rear is just tight. The exterior is wider, possibly to give it more protection in side impact?
Sitting next to it was an E sedan, and um, I really like that E. It's a bit larger, of course, but in person it's a much better car than the coupe. Not having driven either, that's hard to justify, but looking at the access, seating, trunk space, and etc., the sedan is superior. And, when I adjusted the front seat for me, I could get into the back comfortably. Can't even think of doing that in the C.
I'm curious as to how a C coupe on the same chassis will look.
Sadly, driving home I was looking at my car and thinking: it's not showroom clean anymore, and it's small, and it's .... Damn showrooms!

let's also hope that it doesn't look like the new 5 series GT
