C 300 Luxury
New Owner of MB C300 Luxury

Hi I have just purchased C300 Luxury with Sprots Grille and was wondering if any expert can guide me on my query.

When I got Delivery of my C300, delivery lady asked me if I want to buy a package which can cover Tires incase of flat. When I asked can I repair the flat tire and she said no you will have to replace with new tire and after reading on net found that some people says that you will have to change 2 tires (if fron tire got flat than need to change for both front wheel). Is this true ? Please guide me. Any more suggestions are welcome if you have as this is my frist luxury car in my life.

Also can you please guide me is there any option to change KM from Miles while I drive in Canada when I visit Canada. I have MM and P1 package in car.

Thanks,

Sounds like they are pretty much full of crap. Most flats can be repaired with a patch and/or plug. If you get damage on the sidewall or in the tread less than an inch from the sidewall, you will need to replace the tire. You don't have to replace both fronts or rears but if your tires are well worn, it would probably be a good idea to to replace both to keep the treadwear close.
As far as switching from MPH/KPH, it is a simple function in the center console menu...should be easy to find.

Thanks C300Sport. I greatly appreicate your prompt response.

So if it is simply flat tire (reasonable damage because of nail or broken bottle galss etc.) than I can request them to repair even if they insist. Does it impact on TPMS ?

Well for the most case, a fix or a plug, was generally only for temporaray fix and not permanent. I guess it really depends on how bad is the damage, but I have seen many tires being fixed and run them like nothing happen. I wouldnt though just for the sake of mind.

I've had this happen to me 3 times. All three times, I've had the flat fixed for about $40 at a local tire shop. If it's on the tread, you're ok. If it's on the sidewall, there is no way it can be fixed. Keep in mind that once a flat is fixed, the tire no longer carries a guaranteed speed rating.

How much is the tire coverage package?

Would it cover "my wife pulled out of the parking lot drove over the curb and blew both sidewalls out on front and rear"?

That's a $700 touch and couple trips to tire shop.

Most tire coverages, will cover unforseen or unintentional accidents. Such as nails, screws, potholes etc. If if this is due to your own negligence, i.e. your wife running over a curb might not be covered. Please ask these questions to be sure that, your butt in covered before buying. There are no stupid questions, my SA gets a ear full from me. LOL

I've had nail leaks replaced 3 times on different cars of mine and it's never been a problem. Pep Boys, Discount Tire, Wal-Mart, places plug tires for cheap.
