Windshield warranty
My car is less than a year old and the windshield cracked on the passenger side. The crack started from the edge, there was no impact. It did this overnight in the cold. I know my insurance would cover it however I do not feel this should be claimed on my insurance. Anyone have any experience with this.

I do not have experience with this issue, but I would immediately take photos and arrange an appointment with the Service Manager, and/or MB Tech rep for his next visit to that dealer. Even if they do not replace the glass now, in the unlikely case there is any chance of a structural issue with your car, you want this on record in case a replacement windshield does the same thing at the same location.

It is very likely that there has been a previous impact, a rock chip or something. These cracks very often do not appear immediately but the stress from cold and specifically when heater is used after starting the car make the crack appear.
But as suggested above, you can have an expert look at it. If it was from a previous impact, it would likely be visible even after the crack already appeared.

Definitely bring it in to the dealer for a warranty inspection. They will look for any chips along the crack line - and if they dont find any, it should be replaced under warranty. If they do...you'll have to go out of your own pockets to get it replaced.
