Reputable seller, inspected(doesn't mean anything). The only fishy things are

1) the stated price($49k for a C300 fully loaded is a bit too much to pay, he may be just bs'ing there)
2) no reserve
3) Lien/Loan found but he states he paid for the car in full.
4) He went into detail about rain sensing wipers and all that standard crap but didn't list the fact that car has QUADS. Brain fart or scam.

Buyer beware.

Could definitely just using someone elses picture. I wouldnt not buy a cary ebay, just my 2cents. There is too much money involve.

I have toyed with the idea of buying a car from eBay in the past...but I just can not trust it. Every day more and more reputable dealers use eBay to sell used cars so maybe some day i'll bite. Kinda like Hyundai; what a crap car in the past but more and more they are becoming a force to be reckoned with in the U.S.

He's received a **** load of traffic violations on a car that sits in the garage . . 3 last week within a 2 day period

The fogs aren't stock either, but he didn't bother to mention it.

I could have swore I've seen him around where I work. Real odd listing.

A low starting price does not necessarily mean it's a fraud, it is method used to attract views to the listing.


1) The 49k price is could possibly be true because the car is an 08. If he sucked at negotiating or bought the car when it first came out with all those options, paying 44-45k for the car is possible. NY sales tax is 8.875% (Yeah, I know it sucks)

2) Again, no reserve doesnt' mean jack if he's monitoring his own auctions. He can have his buddies bid it to his "reserve" and you wouldn't even know it.

3) Not sure how fast carfax gets updates, but he could possibly have paid off his loan.

4) Goes back to number 1, if he paid almost full price for his car, then it is possible he doesn't really have that much idea about his car.

I'm just trying to clarify some stuff about ebay. No...I'm not the seller or have any relations to him. lol If you guys don't believe me, watch the auction and see how long it stays at under 20k.

My guess....low starting price to draw bidders. Even though there's no reserve, he can still pull the listing the last day if it's not in the ballpark of what he wants. Ebay is pretty good at protecting buyers when it comes to their motors branch. Even then, there are other forms of protection ranging from paypal to credit card fraud protection. It's not like you're mailing him a suitcase of cash.

You see how he don't have a "reserve" set yet the price of the car is at a ridiculous level? He's watching his auction to the Upteen degree. lol
