would it be a bad idea to take off the chrome "C300" from the trunk?

Welcome to the Forum.
It's called debadging and it's a matter of opinion. Some think people debadge if they hav ethe lowest model to hide it. I prefer the clean look of it and I'd do it if I owned the C350 or C63 too.

Dear Anarchist,

Think of it as disrupting order in the universe!

Hey Sportstick! Do you have a pic of your steering wheel? I'd love to see that.

If it's a lease, you probaby wouldn't want to.

When the w204 first came out, some of the demo cars, particularly the white ones, didn't have the badges on the back from the factory. It does look pretty clean, but its possible you could run into problems come time to sell or trade. With a dealership you should be alright as they would be able to look at it and tell what it is (although they may try to deduct money from the trade in order to purchase new badges) but if your selling it privately you might have to convince someone that its truly what your selling (i.e. 4matic or not). In the end, its your car and you can do what you see fit to do with it, as long as your not leasing, thats a whole different situation.

No it's not illegal, no it won't void your warranty, yes it looks much better without the badges (IMHO). Even if you are leasing it's not an issue. I've de-badged my previous leases (Jag X-Type and '07 C280). When the lease was up I simply gave them back the letters/numbers and didn't have any problem...I didn't even have to put them back on the car when I turned it in.

Thanks

For me, I just like a smooth, clean look so I got rid of everything that was "stuck" on...like the badges on the trunk and the chrome strips along the bottom of the doors.

Doesn't this remind you of the conversation a while back about the labels on the sun visors? I believe that fellow said it "voided warranties" also. lol
