Help with HID Headlights

Hi everyone,

I'm new here. I just bought a brand new C300 sport with P1, MM package, and 7Gtronic. I'm really upset that I didn't get the P2 package because I really love HID headlights. I had em on my e92 328i coupe that was recently returned due the end of lease.

So I've been reading up on here about a few things. I want to go ahead and install an HID plug and play kit. Since I'm new to this, I thought I would just clarify everything and hopefully some of you can confirm if it's correct.

All I want to do is change out the stock H7 halogens with an HID plug and play kit. So I am going to buy:

1. This DDM kit (35W) -- >http://www.ddmtuning.com/index.php?p...=101&parent=85
2. And these --> http://www.ddmtuning.com/index.php?p...=130&parent=94

Is this setup everything I need for a plug and play solution? Am I missing any other parts?

Any input would be great!

Thanks everyone,
Alan

Welcome. This site is a wealth of information. The search function is very helpful.

I don't have experience with DDM but bought mine from HIDEXTRA.COM w/c is a sponsor. They sent me everything needed.

hey Alan, i just helped my brother did an HID conversion for my bro's ML and it's not PLUG AND PLAY as they say...
Extra steps u gotta do
1) u gotta drill a whole in the plastic covering in the back
2) u gotta take out this metal bracket that is holding the H7 bulbs and replace that with the HID H7 bulbs

it's a bi*tch to figure out but once u got it down, the other bulb replcement was a breeze

and I got a set of these from iJDM toys... but their shipping method wasn't the best.. but it works fine so check them out.. This kit comes with a pair of Error Free Decoder

Thanks Luis! I just ordered the 6000k version for H7 - can't wait to get them installed!
Thanks for the links as well - the installation seems pretty straight forward. Do you have any additional tips to provide me in addition to what's written in that DIY?

Thanks for those extra tips. It seems to be included in that DIY that Luis provided me. I can't wait to get mine installed!

get the raptor kit instead of the actual DDM kit. I just had mine installed and they're both THE SAME EXACT thing, one is just cheaper.

Also for the guy who said the lights aren't shooting out right, double check to make sure the bulbs are placed in the right way. I had the same problem and i realized it wasn't' installed correctly. the way to check is when your lights are on, go in front of a wall and see if the bulb looks focused or not.

This was passed down by fellow MBWorld Member - Ernest (Chaka) - use a 7/8" drill bit and the rubber seal will fit snug in the plastic covering thereby preventing any leak.
