DDM & HIDExtra H7 HID kits
Hello.
I've been reading/searching around for a bit on this now and seem to have concluded that DDM and HIDExtra are the more recommended and/or offer superior customer service. (I do not have the P2 option; thus, the H7 HID kit conversion)
the DDM kit has the option to choose between 55w and 35w while the HIDExtra kit only has 35w.
I would kindly like to be enlightened on the following:
1.) according to the DDM site, it appears that 55W 8000k outputs the same light/temp color as 35W 6000K.. but which gives better down road visibility? from my understanding, brighter does not always equal better.
2.) side-by-side, which kit do members of the forum prefer?
3.) For the HID conversion, the original plastic bulb cover part needs to be modified/cut. Can this piece be bought separately if i later decide to revert back to halogen H7? ( http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...layCatalogid=0 ) is it part #13?
4.) in some previous posts, it was observed that some members have a black/dark spot in their light output patterns while some others did not. was there a conclusion to why this is?
5.) in reference to the above headlight assembly picture, part #15 is the ballast, but does the headlight assembly (non P2) have the groove/opening for a ballast? has anyone pulled the assembly out to see?

I've read through all the HID threads and never even heard of HIDExtra until this week. I don't know where you got HIDExtra as one of the more recommended brands from. DDM is definitely the most common.
1.) Since they are the same color, 55w because 55w gives off more light than 35w.
2.) Between DDM and HIDExtra? If you're comparing the same wattage and color, what's the difference? Between 55w and 35w, most members have 35w.
3.) Yes. I think I remember seeing the part number on the inside of the cap when I installed my HIDs.
4.) HIDs in a halogen projector. I get the dark spot, but it's not nearly as big as the one in one of the threads. Also, the dark spot is usually where the lines are on the road are, so I don't even notice it most of the time.
5.) A non-P2 headlight assembly doesn't have the slot for a ballast. Haven't looked to be honest, but I'm pretty sure.
