Help Please...

Hey guys...

Unfortunately, due to some personal finacial hardships, I'm looking into taking the C300 somewhere else for an oil change. Can not spend the $500 for a service B right now... Thinking about taking it for a Kwik Kar service where it's like $70 for a synthetic oil change. I know you pay for what you get but I was wondering if there is a certain oil that should go in the MB. Or would it just being synthetic be fine??? Thank you very much for your help... And anything else that I may be missing, I'd appreciate the help...

I've never heard of Bird City, TX but if that is anywhere near the DFW area I highly recommend you take your car to Chris's Car Care for your service B at a reasonable price. They also use the Mobil 1 synthetic and specialize in MB.

If your mechanically inclined, you should change it yourself. Either by jacking it up in your driveway, and using the old try and true method, of draining it from the oil pan, or by the new method of using a mityvac oil extractor from the dip stick tube. I perform all my own maintenance both on my E63 and C300, from oil to brakes, suspension, you name it. I have great satisfaction of knowing it's done by me, and done right. I understand some people just don't possess those skills, and theirs nothing wrong with that. But you can save allot of money doing it yourself.

Do it urself then my friend, there's a great guide here https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...-pictures.html

can't go wrong with it.. just don't turn on ur engine without any oil in it.... and double check everything if it's ur first time =) and it's mobile 1 oil, even when i went to the dealer, they use it on my car when it was low on oil

You must use 229.5 rated oil and a fleece filter! With the extended drain intervals, anything else is not approved and could void your warranty. Do some searches on here and read up on the subject before you make a decision.

u made it sound very scary C300, it's just an oil change.... heheh but seriously, the Oil that I saw them using was Mobil1 European Car Formula 0W-40 Synthetic Motor Oil, http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/web..._sku=8110006-P

if u ever change oil for a car, it's no different from a Benz or a honda... just benz is more expensive and a read it up like C300 said, but every oil change will need oil and Filter. goodluck and becareful man =)
