Doing some welding; what precautions to take

Hey, I'm thinking of adding quad exhaust to my 2010 C300.

What precautions should I take when welding; Do I need to disconnect the battery. If so, will this affect anything I should be aware of.

thanks,

If electric welding definitely disconnect the battery.I do not know the effects of welding on the modern electronics/computers in vehicles & would definitely obtain some expert advice before striking an arc.

seriously though check before you disconnect the battery. I remember there were a few posts about how the electronics went crazy after the battery being disconnected.
