How to fix/repair headlights after burnt LEDs?

As many others here have experienced I installed ctgilles's LED for the eyelids on my c63 and they ended up burning the eyelid sockets. I was able to replace the outer ones, but the two inner ones burnt so badly that I accidentally severed the wires to the socket while trying to pull them out. So my question is there a way to fix the eyelid/socket? Is there a way to fix this maybe without taking the headlights out? I'm asking because MB service said that if they had to take the headlight out, they would charge a grip for labor because they would have to take the bumper off. Any help would be appreciated.
