Black **** after 3000 km trip.

Attached is a photo of my rear bumper after a 3000 km trip. It is a little disappointing as the last generation of diesels did not do this.

I think it may be due to the aerodynamics of the rear end sucking the soot back on to the bumper.

There is definitely no particulate filter on this engine!!

The answer may be a 4 " stainless steel stack up behind the rear window or more seriously, a single tail pipe directing the exhaust to the ground or side.

Hey Carsy, you should have spelled out AMG...then we could give you a hard time about it.

Do you notice the carbon build up between regular washes or just on the marathon stints?
