Hi out there. My mechanic put a rebuilt ECU in my car for $400 and am wondering of that is a good price. Of course it cost $100 for programming. I think that I am getting less mileage then before it was replaced and I have a noise like a cricket when I execrate or decelerate. What could that be never heard the noise before.
Does anyone out there know what the correct program to use for the rebuilt ECU? They programmed the regular program but told me there were more programs on the computer and if I have problems they would reprogram the ECU.
So if anyone know I would be very grateful to know what the correct program is for the C230 Kompressor Coup.

The ECU was apparently not reading properly and the check engine was contently on. When the ECU was reprogrammed the check engine light came on after I turned the ignition on three times. The car was running rough when the engine light came on. It seems that the car is burning more fuel now. I am not very versed in the ECU so please tell me why it sounds fishy. I do not know very much about car engines. I am a fill up and drive person.Now trying to learn. Thanks for your reply.
