H&R SuperSports vs. Sports vs. Coilovers

Alright coming to the end of my mod lists over here guys, Now i wanna work on my suspension. I don't know where to even begin. I wanna go low, but to keep in mind I am a very aggressive driver, had a 2005 mini ac schnitzer tuned, it was a show car it was slammed to the floor on coilovers and I basically went through 2 sets of wheels. On this car I wanna go with an aggressive drop but want to keep my ride comfort in mind.. Does Anyone have h&r supersports that can let me know whats good? Also I know theres pics i can look for but if anyone can help me out maybe put them on this thread thatd be down. Please help! =] thanks in advanced.

If you've got the cash, go coilovers. I went with springs at first and hated it. Should have just gone coilovers in the first place and done it right the first time. Of course, I was looking for a more aggressive drop than what springs were offering me, but it's not just that....it's ride quality as well. There was definitely a noticeable difference between ride quality between coilover vs spring swap setup. Stick with H&R Street, KW Street (V3 isn't really worth it since I doubt you're tracking), or Bilstein PSS10.

Thanks mike I appreciate it. So at one point you had the sports correct? Not the supersports? Also ofcouse If i am able to get the money for the coilovers thats the way to go. but when you did have springs was the ride really bad?

I agree with mike, if you have the money for coilovers go that route but myself went with H&R super sport since i dont have the kind of money for coilovers.but the look is much better as well as the handleing then stock. Im pretty agressive driver myself(3pts on record ) and i love the super sport.

I was considering the H&R Sports or the Eibach kit only because of the Sway bars
http://www.tirerack.com/suspension/s...880&perfCode=P
Would it be horrible to do the H&R Springs with the Eibach Sway Bars?

I would go Coilovers bc you have full control with them like adjusting height and damper. With the potholes just be careful and drive slow. =) i Love my ride had it for about a year now and it is still ride strong plus my car is not a daily driver and hear in the East Coast we have creators as potholes =(

No you can mix and match sways bars with springs. The brands won't matter.

if you're not tracking the car, dont even bother with coilovers. H&R Supersports are perfect. I dont think it affected my ride quality that much at all! I love them, and love the aggressive drop.

I think I'm going to end up dropping my car on h&r supersports and ill make a thread with before and after pictures.. But good ones hahah. Also for our cars does only eibach make sway bars? And do I go sway bars or strut brace? What makes the biggest impact I was thinking sway bars first. If someone has experience let me no

Not to be rude or mean, but unless you've dropped your 204 on springs AND coilovers, riding on a daily basis, you really have no proof or evidence to back ride quality statement up. Anything else is strictly conjecture.

Eibach is the only company that makes sway bars for our car. Might be able to talk MB Arts to fabbing some up though As for what to do first, sway bars, then strut brace. But even before that....if after dropping the vehicle, if you've got too much cambering and not putting rubber to road, invest in camber arms and toe links before anything else.

I didnt say anything about riding on coilovers. I have had coilovers on all of my previous cars, everytime i installed them i set the ride height once and never touched them again. I simply stated that I don't see anything wrong at all with the ride quality on the springs and don't really feel that there is any need for coilovers unless you want a really specific ride height/ setup.

If you have the dynamic handling package with the continuously variable dampening i heard there is almost 0 difference in ride quality when in sport mode with the H&R SuperSports

New springs do not void warranty. And super sport drop the front 1.7 and back 1.8. If your rims have correct offset and tires it will not rub. I have super sport and 265 tires in the back no rub at all. Super sport is the best look imo

C300 W204
Hey Mike,

I have seen numerous pics on this forum of w204s with H&R Sport and H&R Super Sport. A lot of the cars with the Super Sports seem just too low, especially in the rear, where the fender covers part of the tire. For this reason, I chose to go for the H&R Sport (just ordered them), as it looks like a more balanced drop. Would you still recommend them, considering the fact that I dont want a super aggressive drop?

Btw, are there any sport shocks out there for the w204? I've seen Bilsteins recommended on the forum, but couldn't find them when I searched on Tirerack and Bilstein's website.

if you just want a mild drop, then H&R sports springs are fine.

Ok still do not know. I remember asking a while back which is lower coilovers or supersport?
Right now I want lower than supersports will coilovers say megan coilovers go lower. OR is supersport pretty much same as lowest setting on coilovers?

well with coilovers you can adjust so I am guessing it can go lower than supersports
