IPad in our C300

I am going to purchase my first Apple product an IPad. I kniw it runs off WiFi but no biggy bc my phones are mobile hotspots and it should wire up the same as a IPod with the Aux cable. Playing ITunes in my car should be no problem my question is how should I mount it? Lol just sharing my thoughts n ideas.

Outstanding! If you slide it down on the seat about halfway, it would look like an Ipad with wings!

Dear Apple Marketing Department: Anybody do any name research before launch?

Why not just get a iPhone or Motorola Droid? I play music off the droid all the time . .

My car didn't come with a Navi either but I sit the droid in front of the command screen and use the Google Navigation . . Match made in heaven.

Haha, do tell how it is. Though my guess is it's probably not much different from any other iTouch, since they did prove that it's basically an iTouch jumbo. Do give a review on it! :P For the curious buyers on this forum. In terms of mounting it...if it's not inconvenient, maybe the back seat pockets?

I would advise others to wait for the price to drop. After the excitement wears off, it is still great but you start to notice things. My movies aren't widescreen anymore (almost 4:3). And I keep wondering if I should have waited for the 3G version (I didn't want another cell bill). Its still a fun toy. My buddy wants to fab a mounting plate out of CF for me. Then I'll be happy.

they say to wait for the 2nd Gen with the camera and the mounting i was thinking like a phone cradle arm that will be bolted passenger side and swings out to the center console and i have to make a custom bracket for the IPad.

I would just run the ipod wire out of the glove box and put the iPad in the netting on the passenger floor.

Not sure you want to go to that extreme though.

I was confused by this initially as well. When you press Disc, the screen it brings you to will say disc on the bottom left corner. Simply use the command knob to go down and press the button to select it, then a half menu will pop up enabling you to select AUX.

I had to look this up in the manual to figure it out.

Yes, you need to click the audio button on the comand screen which will bring down a list of options such as am fm sat aux. Click aux.

Now you may be wondering how in the world you will flip through your iPod! Take it out from the glove every time you want to change the playlist like I DID??? Nope!

Press the up/down arrows on the steering wheel and set the instrument cluster screen to AUDIO.

Press the END CALL button on the steering wheel to go "back" one screen, as if you were pressing it on a non-touch iPod. It will take you either to the album or artist, press end again and it will take you to a list of artists, once more and it is the screen with playlist/show order

If we had column shifter, you could mount it po-lice style.

Does this only work with Comand? I have the standard screen and click disc and then with the scroll wheel I hit AUX

Having tested a few setups on the iPad, I noticed the width of the ipad fits EXACTLY the width of the opening of the COMMAND screen(door width). Just waiting on some company to make an adapter for it. I can totally see a small plastic adapter fitting the non-MM screen perfectly.

White 2009 C300 Sport
in front of the command screen is where i was thinking it would be best as well, and why is it that everyone talks about hooking up the iPad via an aux cable or via the iPod hookup?

the iPad has bluetooth and most C300's have bluetooth.

is it not possible to hook it up via bluetooth?

i haven't tried yet, i get my car this week
