Clearcoat peeling around chrome trim on front fender...and chrome flaking on edge

I did a full detail on my car yesterday and as much as I love having it this clean...I hate all the little new imperfections that I find (rock chips, a light scratch, etc.) I was surprised to find some clearcoat chipped away under my left front fender's chrome trim...and the back edge of the chrome trim was chipped a little bit.

I bought this car used and this is the first time I've handwashed it, thus finding some new surprises

I used some clearcoat touch-up that came with my MB touch-up paint kit and I think this will protect that area that was missing clearcoat. I also used it to "seal" the edge of the chrome trim where it was chipped slightly. Has anyone else had similar paint issues on their C? And do you think my clearcoat touch-up will be enough to protect these spots for the long run? Luckily it's in a very low spot on the car so you cannot see it, I just worry about more chrome coming off or more clear chipping away...

Another round of ICE
Do you have solid info that this car is all original sheetmetal/paint, as you bought it used?

It had a clean carfax record which I checked out before I bought the car, absolutely no accidents. Of course if someone fixes a car without using their insurance it may not show up on carfax I'm guessing. I'm very particular about my cars and this is my first used car purchase, I always buy new. However, a new MB was a little out of my reach so bought pre-owned this time.

I checked the car over up and down all over before buying and found a few minor things that I could live with or fix, nothing major. To the untrained eye the car looks brand new and all body panels paint match perfectly. It's Irridium silver so if would be noticeable if the paint didn't match perfectly so I'm assuming there has been no major damage/repairs.

Even if you went to a shop and professionally fixed every little scratch and rock chip you still will have saved a ton! Congratulations on your new purchase. I wish I could have found what I was looking for used.

Thank you very much, I did save about 8-10 grand buying used and it was my only way to get a MB right now. $30K for a near new C350 seemed like a great deal and way more exciting than anything new I could find at that price point. VW GTI was on my short list but it just didn't feel like the Benz If I decide to keep the C for the long run I'll get a few minor things professionally fixed.
