An idea for the tail lights

Question: Is it feasible to have only the lower strip of light on as running light and use the top strip of the tail light as a stop lamp?

As a reference, think of the W203 c class stop lamps.

Ideas?

Try taking the tail light housing out and switch the wires.

It should be possible, there isnt really much to the tail lamp assembly when you look at it. The only thing i would be concerend about is the current draw if wired incorrectly.

No, because if you disconnect any bulb, the lamp out warning will come on. Plus, an alternate light will illuminate.

It is true theat the ligh out will illuminate if a bulb is taken out but if you were to re-pin the connector to the tail light it is possible.

Seems feasible. Sometime next week or the following I'm going to hit up the mechanics on soundview in great neck to see what they can do. will post back

Why don't you tell me what you would move where. Remember, the left upper inner is also used as the rear fog by increasing the voltage. See my previous post explaining this.
