Fog Light Replacement H11?

Hey guys, I just recently ordered a replacement foglight assembly off ebay to fix my old cracked one. I believe it will fit fine, but it turns out that the lightbulb used in the assembly is H11.

Normally I wouldn't care as it came with the light bulb, but I have 7500k GP thunders, and now must order an H11 set to use it. MY quesiton is, before I have the seller send me a second replacement part (at no extra cost because I complained that it wasn't OEM but he made it seem that way) and then order a second set of GP Thunders.

Is there anything different between the H7 bulb and the H11 bulb, given both are 12v, 55w? I don't know if the harness or plug for my current housing will fit?

Lux uses H11 and sport uses H7.

I have the sport bumper, and it appears that the housing would fit, and doesn't look oval like the luxury, its just that the light that they used is H11 and not H7, odd...

Also something to note, on the paper work it also mentioned that the fog would work on a ML?

Would you mind telling me which one you ordered off eBay as I need to replace mine as well?

My car is an Avantgarde but it comes with the Lux bumper, is it a H11 or H7?
infact both avantgarde(sport) and elegance(Lux) comes with the same bumper in my region and they look like this.. I still dont know which light bulb it uses, and I find no way to take it off from the front end of the car other than from the wheel arch D:

You need the H11 and I am soory I can't help you with bulb change on yours as I have never changed a bulb on a lux. I think I remember reading something about the floor pan needing to be taken part way off but not 100% certain.

Ron, I thought the bumper has to be removed to replace the bulbs on a lux? I might be wrong but I think I've read it some where before.

I have read that also and just can't believe MB would make that sort of design mistake, bulbs blow all the time. I would jack up the car and try the pan method first, but since I don't have a Lux I can't try.

Looks like the Sport bumper version comes out from the front and the Lux version from the back. which means the plastic panel underneath must come out which is considerably more difficult. But, after 2.5 years, no broken lenses or failed bulbs, unlike so many.

BTW, the Lux bumper shown above is not the same as the US Lux version which does not have the little chrome ears on each side. Thankfully.

the H7 and H11 are completely different bulb types, only the wattage draw is the same
