Is it worth it? I was quoted nearly $5K for 100K miles. I am at 48K miles and once I am over 50K I won't be able to extend it any more. I can't decide but I think I want to let it slide but I am afraid to roll the dice...

My feeling has always been that if you made it that close to the end of your warranty without any major problems, then you don't need the extended warranty. Even if you have a semi-major repair down the road it probably won't cost $5K.

It's also been my experience that it is much cheaper to buy the extended warranty at the time of car purchase for some reason.

MB Extended Warranty is pretty pricey. If it's actually worth it depends in large part to how well your current ride runs, how you take care of her, and if you're a gambling man. lol

This is why I went with Geico for my insurance and purchased their MBI package. 7 year/100k miles for like an extra $40/6 months.

Well, I am just worried we have a pretty complicated Transmission and engine. Any major service to either could be an easy 5K. My buddie had a rear main seal and engine mounts in his SL500 done and it was a 5K job...

Ahh, MBI won't help - I am more then 15 months old and well over 15K miles...

I think it is worth it and will buy it when the time comes around. Peace of mind for me.
