This customer was referred to me by his brother whose car I had also wrapped the roof in gloss black. The owner of this new white Porsche Carrera 2 also wanted me to wrap his roof in my gloss black material to give it that panoramic two tone look. He drove out to me in Anaheim Hills / Orange County from around Riverside / Corona area. Unlike most cars, the Porsche has a non glass sunroof, so that piece had to also be wrapped along with the rest of the roof. I think the end results looked awesome and it really made this Porsche look even sportier without giving it too much of an aftermarket / overdone feel that other modifications can cause.

Before:

Just for fun, to see how the car would have looked like if it had a glass sunroof:

Back to business, here are the end results:

Here is a brand new white Audi B8 A4 that I blacked out the chrome / brushed aluminum window trim with my gloss black material. The owner of this car went with gloss black over the matte black so it'd blend in with his tinted windows. The chrome is a small detail, but even on a lighter colored car like this white Audi, it still makes an immense difference in the overall look of the car. I believe the owner of this car was from around Orange County or Los Angeles. The gloss black window trim makes the car look sportier and classy at the same time, without ruining the factory look.

The owner of this car was also in Orange County and brought me by his CLS63 to have me lightly tint / smoke the clear section of the tail lights. I had previous blacked out his chrome / brushed aluminum window trim in matte black, which you can kind of see in the corner pictures and on the rear trunk handle piece. Even though this car was fairly blacked out, we only tinted the clear portion of the tail lights instead of the whole thing, which gave it a nice subtle touch. For comparison, if you look in the background, my X5's tail lights are completely tinted with the same shade/material.

This is probably my shortest picture post ever in recent times. I had worked on this car probably 1-2 years ago, but I haven't posted any pictures my work on Subarus in a while, so I decided to use these pictures anyways. The owner of this white Subaru hatchback / wagon actually lived right down the street from me in Irvine / Orange County, so I just came by his place to vinyl wrap his roof in my gloss black vinyl material. Part of the reason for him wanting to wrap his roof was to also protect it for when he had a roof rack on and put snowboards, etc, on there. Pictures aren't the best, but hopefully you guys can still see and get an idea.

I had done this white Honda Insight before, but in gloss black. The owner decided to change it up and had me redo his roof in the 3M di-noc matte carbon fiber material this time around. The owner of this car was from around Long Beach and drove out to me in Anaheim Hills / Orange County to have the vinyl work done. The roof was fairly big and had an antenna and rear windshield nozzle right next to it that I had to work around, but everything came out looking good. I've had people ask me if I can wrap mirrors. Yes, I can wrap mirrors, however, it's not so much if I can wrap them, but if the material can can maintain that shape/contours of the piece being wrapped.

I do like these new E coupes and C coupes that have been starting to show up on the roads more. The owner of this white E class coupe wanted to have me tint / smoke their tail lights with my light film. In the pictures, the car/surrounding may seem under exposed or over exposed, but that is done on purpose, since the focus is on the tail lights. Each of the pictures represents how the tail lights look exactly at that moment in person in those lighting conditions. The owner of this car was from around south Orange County and drove out to me in Anaheim Hills to get the work done.

Had this blue Subaru STI hatchback / wagon come by to have me wrap the roof of his car in my gloss black vinyl material. I had also done his brother's Subaru's roof, but in the 3M dinoc matte carbon fiber, a couple of years earlier. The owner of this car was from around Westminster or so and drove out to me in Anaheim Hills / Orange County to get the work done. Subarus are one of the cars that I think can pull off a matte black roof look, but I think that gloss black on this car and color turned out fairly nice.

The owner of this car was also around in Orange County and came out to me in Anaheim Hills to get the work done. In the before pictures, you can see my X5 in the background with black window trim, so that may also kind of give you an idea of how chrome and non chrome window trim looks like side by side on black cars. For this car, we went with my gloss black vinyl material over the matte black material and I think it turned out fairly nice. The car had a metallic finish to it, so the gloss black still stood out against it even though it was gloss black as well.

Wrapped the trunk of this black 4 door Honda Civic in the 3M di-noc matte carbon fiber material. The owner of this car was also in Orange County. The indentations on the top of the trunk, which look like bubbles, are actually holes in the trunk from the spoiler that used to be on there. This is not the perfect solution to covering up the holes in the trunk of the car, but it's a cheaper and reversible alternative that will allow you to go back to factory if needed.

This is the first bug I have done. The owner of this new body silver VW Bug came by to have me vinyl wrap the roof of his car with my gloss black material. He drove out from Los Angeles to me in Orange County / Anaheim Hills to get the work done. Unlike most roofs, the roof of this VW Bug had two separate sections that had to be wrapped. Overall, I think the black roof really made this rather normal/regular looking VW Bug a bit sportier.

Had this new white E class E350 come by to have me lightly tint / smoke the tail lights on his car. The owner of this car drove out to me in Anaheim Hills / Orange County to have the work done. Since the tail lights over lap onto the rear quarter/side a bit, I also took a side picture to give you guys an idea of how the tinted / smoked tail lights looks like from a side profile.

The owner of this new black BMW F10 528i sedan wanted me to complete the black out look for his car. I vinyl wrapped the chrome / brushed aluminum window trim on his car with my matte black material. We went with matte black over the gloss black since it matched the B pillars and it stood out a bit more than the gloss black would have. Overall, it makes a big difference, especially on a car that is as blacked out already as this one was. The owner of this car was from Orange County also and drove out to me in Anaheim Hills to get the work done.

Hey Don, I've been meaning to ask this as I've looked this up but have found little to no answers on how I should go about this. I got a vinyl roof done a while back from another shop, but it's been about two years since I had it done now, and the vinyl has more or less lost its luster. It's a gloss black vinyl and over time, seeing as I do not have an indoor garage available, has been subject to tree sap, bird poop, scratches, etc. Seeing as it's been put through so much, it more or less looks terrible if you look at it up close, so I'm considering removing it. However, is there a particular way I should go about this? Or would an exacto-knife and goo gone do the job? Hope to hear back. Thanks in advance and happy holidays.

It'd be best for you to contact the people who put it on for you, since everyone has their own recommended ways of removal, sometimes based on what type of material is used. However, if all else fails, just start peeling it off from an edge somewhere and work your way until the whole roof is completely done.

Here is a red Mitsubishi Evo 8 that I did probably a year and a half ago now. Just found the pictures while going through my old stock. The owner of this car had me vinyl wrap the top portion of his rear trunk spoiler in the 3M Di-noc matte carbon fiber material. The original carbon fiber piece that I was wrapping over had faded and yellowed out over time so he wanted me to wrap over it to give it to cover it up but still preserve that cf look. The owner of this car was around Malibu.

I typically do a lot of newer / brand new cars, but that doesn't mean I don't work on older cars as well. Here is a white Mercedes E500 that came by to have me vinyl wrap the roof of his car with my gloss black material. I had also tinted his lights previously, which you can also see in the pictures. The owner of this car drove from south Orange County to me in Anaheim Hills to get the work done. The black roof really gives the car a new updated look without going overboard in my opinion.

This is not your standard car you see me working on, but I do not discriminate. I work on all types of cars, even if I mainly work on Euro cars typically. The owner of this silver Toyota Corolla came by to have me tint the tail lights on their car. The owner drove out from around Los Angeles / West Covina area to have me to do the work. Even on a stock car, the light tint / smoke on the tails still adds a nice overall touch to the car without making it look overly done or out of place. I took some before pictures, but they weren't that great, due to the direction of the lighting.

I can't believe it's already been almost half a year since I've been up to norcal to do my vinyl wraps up there in the bay area. Anyways, I still have a ton of pictures from my last trip that I haven't posted up yet. Here is a silver / gray Infinity G37 sedan that came by to have me vinyl wrap the chrome window trim on his car with my gloss black material. We went with the gloss black over the matte black finish for this car and I think it turned out great. The car was fairly stock, but even with just the window trim done, it completely changed the look of the car while maintaining a nice classy factory look.

Had the owner of this gray / silver E46 330i coupe come by to have me vinyl wrap the roof of their car. The owner opted to have me do only the center roof section and not the roof rails. I was able to wrap around the antenna without any issues, just like any of the other cars that also have antennas that I have done. For this car, we went with my gloss black vinyl material. The gloss black gives it a nice clean factory look. The owner of this car drove out to me in Orange County / Anaheim Hills to have the work done.

ETA is possibly mid to late March.

Sometimes it doesn't take much to set off a car. In this case, the owner of this black Nissan 350z came by to have me vinyl wrap the two side door vertical pillars in the 3M 1080 gloss carbon fiber finish. In addition to those, he also had me lightly tint / smoke the front bumper ambers to tone them down, but not completely black them out. The owner of this car drove out to me in Anaheim Hills / Orange County. Overall small / minor things done to the car, but sometimes it's those small minor details that really makes the car.

The owner of this black Mercedes Benz E550 sedan came to me in Anaheim Hills / Orange County to have me black out his chrome / brushed aluminum window trim and also had me lightly tint / smoke the tail lights on his car. He was overall going with a darker theme with his car, so these two changes really help tie that theme together. I took some pictures of the tail lights inside and outside to show how it looks like in different lighting scenarios. Also, for the trim, we went with the matte black finish over the gloss finish for his car.

This is not exactly what I normally post, but for some reason I had two cars come in on the same day to have me do the same thing on both cars. Both cars had roof rails that were starting to corrode / fake / peel, and they wanted me to wrap them in vinyl to cover up the imperfections and give the pieces a consistent finish again. Ideally, the pieces should be smooth for the best results, but worse comes to worse, even if they aren't smooth, at least they are one color/finish again after being wrapped.

First car had silver / chrome roof rails and they wanted me to wrap it in gloss black. Second car had factory matte black roof rails, and they wanted me to just rewrap them in my matte black vinyl finish. The pictures aren't the best, since I was fairly busy that day and I wasn't even sure if I was going to be using these pictures later on as well.

I had this brand new white BMW F30 335i sedan come by to have me vinyl wrap their car's roof in my gloss black vinyl material. I think this is the first mod that the owner of this car did. Just goes to show that getting a black roof done looks good by itself or as finishing touches to a car that already has other modifications done to it. I believe the owner of this car was around Orange County as well and drove out to me in Anaheim Hills to get the work done. We went with gloss black on this car to match his already factory gloss black mirrors and window trim pieces.

That 3 series is beautiful with the roof! Just not as sweet looking as my C250 does now thanks Don. I love the roof! Any one considering should have no doubts in this very talented man.
