What color?

Hey guys, I'm sure you guys have seen this type of post many times, but I am having a hard time deciding what color to get the C300 in. What were some of the things that made you pick the color of your car? Perhaps it could then help me chose the right color for me.

What I would be purchasing: (2010 or 2011)
P2
Multimedia Package
Panorama Roof
Harman/Kardon Speakers
Maybe the AMG Wheels

Mine is black and I love it. However it doesn't hold up as well here in the Northeast because of all that snow and ice, so there are quite a few scratch marks on it.

In Florida it was really great but did get a little hot sometimes because of the heat and sun.

It depends where you live but i'd recommend a dark grey or light blue color after the black.

Another round of ICE
I start with the premise that metallic paints look more upscale and refined. Straight shades of red, black, and white are sportier and younger looking, which is not my preference. Then, the "non-color" colors, such as Steel, Palladium, Iridium, etc. emphasize the steel sculpture of the body. Colors such as metallic reds, blues, etc. are nice, but take away from that purer perception. My result was Palladium as that was the only metallic Sport manual trans available in 6 states around here.

Tanzanite Blue. Depending at the lighting condition the car "changes" color, in the sun light it looks beautiful (IMO) it has a little purple hue to it, then in the evening it looks black. I get lots of comments about it during the summer

What you should do is take the time to visit several dealers to see the colors on the car. It will be worth your time.

I went with Black just because. The MB was my first real car purchase, being that every other car I had was a hand me down, so I went with black because I never had a black car.

Today, I would have probably went with a dark grey. It's different and when you take the car, mix a dark grey body color and throw in some matte black accents, the result is complete ecstasy.

Conclusion is, my next car will be a dark grey and you should consider it as the for yourself as well

be different
PINK!
nah srsly, black is all good if u dont mind to get obvious swirl marks which u will have to polish often. and if you don't mind that it is a common color
palladium silver would be much easier to maintain and it gives excellent effect from the right angle
arctic white is good too
in fact all color is gooooood so up to u :P

I got Steel Grey as my first choice, but I am loving Palladium lately. I even saw a plain old iridium silver and thought it looked great!

i bought black because you can never go really wrong with black. but if i had searched and joined this forum before i got the car i probably would have gotten white. black is beautiful ! just go through the picture thread and see what you like !

edit: if you cant choose between black and white - go with the silver look lol.

I ordered mine yesterday in Palladium Silver. My reasoning is because:
- I always go with black, and I'm not so good about washing my car.
- I wanted to try a new color and something that hid the dirt better.
- Not too crazy about going too far away from my normal color spectrum like red or blue.
- I really liked the Steel gray but the dealer said that it's dark enough that it may as well be black in terms of how much dirt it shows.

Since you are going to order pano roof...white would be a good choice...
Otherwise..I love my Steel Grey w/ pano roof too...

There's three colors I considered:

White - When auto racing first started, each country was assigned a color for their vehicles. White is the German national racing color.

Silver - In 1934, Mercedes racing exceeded their weight allowance by slightly less than the weight of their paint. They decided to strip the paint of their cars, and the "Silver Arrow" was born. The 1937 W125 produced 646 hp, a number not exceeded on the racetrack until turbocharged Formula One racers broke it in the 1980s.

Black - This is the traditional limousine color, and what Brabus considers the standard color for their super-tuned monstrosities.

If you're interested in any other colors, then you are probably making a stylistic choice, and who are any of us to decide what you should like?

A little note of great advice: Always pick your color for how the car will look at its best, not at its worst. If you're not big on hand washing your car then you might as well just use the auto wash when you fill up, and apply a synthetic sealant (this one lasts for one year) as needed to protect the paint.

IMO: In sporty cars there is only 3 colors white, black and silver/gray`s. This has been traditional accross the board with Mfg`s. they sell far more of these colors than anything else. I`ve owned many blacks years ago but gave up trying to keep them looking good, so white and silver are my choices for a long time. I`ve had 5 Mercedes that are white.

I think I fall under this category lol. I love this car in black and white, but since I would be getting the Panorama Roof, the white would really give the car the black accents i would be looking for. The silver look is not bad either lol.

My C350 is black ( as was my last 5 cars ) but if I had to do it again I think I would choose either steel grey, iridium silver, or palladium silver ( black looks great when it's clean, it just seems impossible to keep it that way ).

Good choice. I have black and tell you that even before finishing to wipe the water at the car wash I can see dust settling.
Also on black you see very clear any scratch no matter how fine.

My next car will be white.

I luv luv luv my steel grey

When it's shiny it the metallic paint stands out along with a slight hint of purple hues but when it's dirty the color hides the dirt very well !!!

I love my obsidian black car.. it looks purely ... amazing... after a wash and polish.. however it doesnt quite show off the pano roof and gets dirty hours after a wash...

Its tough though.. as much maintenance as the black requires I still think I would consider black again... dark tints just make the car look incredible after its been washed and polished..
As a side note, my original 1st choice was white, however I simply fell in love with the black once i saw it...

the other day coming home from work I saw a white 350 next to me, identical options with a blonde girl driving it (except p2, DAMN!).. it now has made me think that the white is a more feminine color.. and also I would like to track down my soulmate... so if you were the blonde girl in the white 350 with pano and amg wheels.. call meeee!!!

Haha, I Just found out one other very important piece of information. Black cars are a lot harder to hit with a laser than white cars. So if you like to speed, having a black car definitely helps avoid tickets.
