Smile Which lights to get?

Hey guys I'm a new Benz owner and just picked up a 08' c350. I'm looking to get some new HIDs for my car (cause thats all I can afford right now T_T) and I want it to have a pure white look. What kind of lights should I be getting??

Do you have the P2 package or do you not? Because that determines what sort of bulb type you need. If you do, you have stock xenons, which are D2S bulbs. If you don't, you have stock halogens, which require H7 bulbs. For the pure white look, 6000k would probably be a good number to look at. Maybe 5000k for the sake of lumens.

I have the stock halogens. It's a pretty big hassle constantly using my highbeams in my neighborhood cause there are no streetlamps -_-'. In any case thanks for the help! I think I'm going to go with the 6000k, a friend of mine just got his today and it looks great. He has a c300

6000k is a nice white and 8000k which is what I got is bright white as well with a slight hint of blue !! Either or I think it's a nice improvement over the oem p1 lights !

I just pulled the trigger on switching my Diamond Visions to HIDs for my lows. Got the HIDs from O-nex which FrankW is using.

We're on the same boat. I'm planning to switch out the stock speakers to Harman Kardon as well.

Ohh I have those but I'm really unsatisfied with them actually... the base is pretty bad on that and it rattles the trunk a LOT. The ones on bimmers are way better because they put the subs under the seats and it distributes the sound sooo much better.

Ohh gosh. Is it really that bad? I never actually listened to them before. Its more or less a 15k add on cause we have to get the harman kardon speakers along with the tilt up screen etc.

Yeah it really does rattle a lot and gets pretty annoying especially on the freeway when you really have nothing to do but listen to all the creaks and rattles in your car. I'm looking into putting something in so that the trunk doesn't rattle as much but not sure if anything is out there...

LOL I know. I've really been debating about this for quite a while.

Hopefully the install would turn out fine as they're 35w instead of 55w. According to Frank, all I gotta do is set the xenon to present and it would not throw any codes or so. Would surely post up pics after everything is done.

Can I ask why you didnt go with DDM? I did notice O-nex is double the price.

I got the 55w kit, my friend who has these as well installed for 4 months he has no issues at all. I am debating switching down to 35w because the 55w may be too bright for my needs. I want it to look OEM like and decent visibility.

Anyways about ballast placement, my friend mounted the ballasts near the wheel well. He sent me the instructions as per member Alexlev and it seems like a great placement. If you need the link to the thread just shoot me an email/pm.

Well the reasons I choose O-nex over DDM is because ddm doesn't provide free shipping to Melbourne whereas for O-nex shipping is free. Also, I've heard that DDM can't keep up with the orders at the moment and hence I would have to wait longer to receive the product. Other than that i think both products are about the same.

I don't think I'll be installing the kits myself. Would most likely let a shop install it. Not confident enough to do it and I don't wanna mess things up. Thanks for the help anyway.

Clk, I think the chances of me getting the O-nex kit now is pretty low. I made a mistake on the order. Long story short, I think I would be getting the DDM kit instead.

Ok now I cant make up my mind for the speakers. I'll wait for the quotation from my dealer and see what they say. If prices are unreasonable then I would have to stick with my stock speakers. I'm not saying stock isn't good but the sound is rather "boxy" from my point of view.
