Rims question(s)

I'm confused about rims and the offsets, i get it, a w204 is a 5 x 112 pattern, i dont understand how certain 5 x 112 rims wont fit, like what kinda of factory rims can i put on without any modifications? Please bear with me and explain like im in first grade...

C300 4Matic P1 18" rims
yeah its driving me crazy the new w204 has crazy offsets the biggest offset i found aftermarket is 45 dont know if that will fit the company says it will but i am skeptical. I also dont understand how a 4matic can run a staggered tire set up. Coming from bmw i know that they cant run a staggered set up in the xdrive it messes with the 4wheel drive system. So i am totally lost and cant get a deffinite answer from anyone. Can i run a non staggered setup on the C300 4matic with a 45 offset or if i run staggered what will happen.
It looks like i might have to find a set of OEM 18 inch AMG 5 spokes to put on.
