Buying My First Benz! should I be concerned about this?

Hi all,

I came across a loaded 2008 C350 sport: navigation, dvd, 6 cd, harman kardon sound, amg wheels, ipod interface, etc

the seller is willing to part with it for $29,000. it has 30,000-31,000 miles.

This seems like quite a low price. i ran the carfax, no accidents, but it shows its had 2 prior owners (1 in the east coast, 1 on west coast) and the current owner (#3) wants to sell it.

Is there anything else I could do to be sure it doesn't have any issues? the price looks too good to be true. Seller had front tires changed about 9,000 miles ago, and back tires were changed a few months ago.

Wow, I would definitely raise an eyebrow at three owners in less than three years. This in itself is not a deal-killer, but I would definitely get the car thoroughly checked by a professional before buying it. $100 or $200 spent for a professional opinion could save you from a lot of future problems. If you even suspect body repair, have a top-line body shop inspect it and make sure it was done properly.

A Carfax is a good place to start, but it is not conclusive evidence the car has never been wrecked or flooded.

Actually, EDMUNDS.com - True market Value shows it @ $26,615 "Private Party" and $28,580 "Dealer Retail.... Not "exact science" but only an indication that the $29,000 may not be as "too good to be true" as you're thinking...

I would begin to consider it for $29,000 if the seller were to include a free professional inspection of some sort.

Just my 2 cents...

Another round of ICE
Having sold used cars at one point in my life, if I were buying a used Benz, I would only consider CPO at a MB dealer.

Did you ask the seller these questions? That would be the first thing I'd do given that you now have this info from carfax.
