Would this mean drilling would not be required for an HID fog setup?

Is not actually meant for the Mercedes but for an E39 BMW but it is the same adapter as our H7 fogs. Is not a plug and play but it does fit.

In the picture the top one you can see a flat peace that you have to remove in order to fit the Mercedes fogs. But that’s about it, you do have to take the front bumper off the car to make the job a lot easier for you.

They sure did! I had to take out the fog light all the way out to do it but it fits like a glove…

That's good news! Do you happen to have any pictures, like a picture from behind the bumper or of the bulb in the adapter before you put it in the fog light housing?

I never took my bumper off either. Just used a ratchet to get the foglight out from the front after removing the mesh grill surrond.

Just received my pair for my future HID install. Hope to report back on how much they help compared to the standard drilling technique.

Received my HID kit but was not able to install it without these adapters. I plugged everything in to see if there was any power issues but aside from needing these adapters the rest of the jobs seems straight forward.

I ordered them from Ebay for under $10 including shipping (now waiting)

Bringing a thread back from the dead, but how does the bulb stay on the adapter? does it pop in or screw on?

Or just lay on the adapter and get sandwhiched between the housing and adapter?

It lays on the adapter and gets sandwhiched into the holder.

yes. You can find those all over ebay for like $3-6. Just search for "H7 HID bulb holder". There's a metal version and a plastic version. Both will work. You'll need a full H7 HID conversion kit also. If you don't already have, we're distributors for top shelf Morimoto HID kits if interested
