World Cup!

So who do you support, and are they still in the competition?

I support Germany since i'm German and thankfully they're still in the competition. Really enjoyed the spanking they gave England! : )

Totally! I used to live in England for a while and got tired of them always being arrogant about football and racist when it comes to Germany. My friends were even telling me how Germany was going to lose badly and it was so satisfying shutting them up haha!

Now it's on to Argentina...hopefully they don't start a fight again this time like they did in 2006!

I went with the USA, but of coarse we lost to Ghana? Come'on Ghana, I still can't believe it. 7 out of the 8 group winners advanced, except the US, damn. Then we would of gotten Uraguay, we had the easy bracket. Oh well at least they played hard.
I also went with England (have family & I lived in London for a few yrs) but of coarse they sucked it up, although they got robbed of a goal, Germany smacked then up.
Tough to pick, but two power houses will be getting bumped. Germany vs Argentina & Netherlands vs Brazil wow! I can't pick it, I like all four teams & their style of play...I believe one out of these four teams will win it.
It's going to be a great weekend, i'm off tomorrow so I'll be in the bar/pub early...lol

Also what does every one think of video replay for goals & offsides on goal shots...i'm from New York & of coarse us Americans are used to it in our sports (ice Hockey in particular), but damn FIFA get with the times...it's only the biggest sporting event in the WORLD. you would think with the millions of people watching, you would want to get GOAL calls correct.

Yeah I know what you mean when it comes to the English/British & their football, but that is how I got into soccer/football. I could not understand the game & all the trash talk so I said let me learn this game, & I must admit I'm a typical American when it comes to soccer/football & didn't respect it. But since England has the Premiership League & not MLS I got to see some of the worlds GREAT players (Erick Cantona) & grew to love the game...lol now that i'm back in the States I still love the game but can't sell it to my friends...lol Typical Americans...lol

Also Germany looks like a well oiled machine, but they are young. It's going to be a good game, the discipline of Germany vs the arrogance of Argentina.

Well that was a bit premature now eh? Haha wow Brazil are out...didn't expect that considering everyone was pegging them to win the World Cup. In a way i'm relieved because it makes things more open now.

That was crazy! I was confident they would win but I didn't in any way imagine 4-0!!

Now Germany is so close to the trophy...here's hoping...

Now we just need the Netherlands to win their game, and if Germany wins, marks this World Cup down on your calendar, because German will have defeated in succession EVERY TEAM that has ever beat them in a world cup final!

1982 - Italy beat Germany. Germany didn't play them this time.
2002 - Brazil beat Germany. Germany didn't play them this time.

Very true. I would have preferred if Germany had knocked Italy out of the first group stage but i'll take what I can get haha.

I don't mind at all if they don't face Brazil. Just makes it easier for getting the cup, and as far as i'm concerned this has been the best run so far.

I'm not sure what's sweeter, beating England or beating Argentina.

Lets see Paul's, the octopus, next prediction.

It'll be a different game since a lot of players know each other.
