Crap, I almost bought a copy of the disc from dadangman, I will order my disc today from MB of Miami.

Unfortunately, I don't think so.
So does it sound like the problem was that your Command unit wasn't up to date before you installed the updated nav maps?
What is your Command unit doing now? Does everything else still work other than the nav or is it completely unusable?

Everything still works excepts for the CD player and the Nav.

I seems strange that it would even attempt to do the install if the COMMAND unit wasn't up to date (assuming it needs to be). There doesn't appear to be any info on the navteq site about possibly needing your COMMAND unit updated before installing the maps.
It's also strange that he was able to update his '09 with a copy of the same disc.
How did the install process go? Did it seem like it was installing and then bomb out after a while or did it immediately get stuck how it is now?
From the error message it sounds like you might be able to insert an original install disc and have it work but maybe not...

The update starts and after a couple minutes a message pops up saying unable to update map, please see manual or something. After that, it just keeps prompting to insert nav update disc 1.

That is the same exact problem with mine, everything works except Navi and CD. As jo17jc230 described, the process seemed to be working at first and then the error message popped up saying unable to update map, please see manual. I clicked out of that and then it prompted me to insert nav update disc 1.

I've seen two people with 2008s try to update with the Nav disc, and geta please insert navigation DVD message. Told them to update their command from the dealership and try again, and it worked in both cases. If that doesn't work for you let me know. The dealership should upgrade your Comand free of charge. There's a few TSBs related to fixes that you can lookup and claim if necessary.

If it sits at updating map 0%, then returns that error it means you're not burning the disc correctly. You need to use a program like ImgBurn, and make sure you are loading the layout data. If the person who ripped it didn't use the correct settings, you will not be able to duplicate it using their image. They need to follow directions for bypassing SafeDisc copy protections.
