I have a friend who owns a 99 C230. She let it sit for month and wow it will not start. The car has about 130k miles on it. Can it be the MAF senor, Whats the life on one? The car sounds like it wants to start and smells slightly of gas. I have a extra MAF for my 96 320, is it worth the effort to chance it?

I have a ’98 C230 (non Kompressor, and your friend’s C230 is Kompressor) and I got a new MAF at 183,128 miles.

Both of’em use a same MAF and the part number is 028 021 71 14. Only difference is your friends’ C230 Kompressor has it located in some odd location.

For ’96 S320 the part number is 028 021 75 00 / 028 021 75 17, so I guess it is a different one from C230s’.

If you have proper tools, I think you can cay try taking it out and cleaning it first before spending $ on a new one.

Hope it helps.
