Can you please elaborate on drone? Is that the noise heard in the car on the highway at a constant rpm?

straight pipes are very raspy, sound really bad. If i was you buy a magnaflow xpipe and replace the resonators with it. Your car will sound great

straight pipe is cat back usually no resonators no mufflers and no point for an Xpipe if you do a straight pipe I had one on my 08 Audi S line a4, I have an Xpipe with straight pipes instead of mufflers on my current C 300 here is the vid.

I have a magnaflow exhaust, would the sound be better with xpipe or straight pipe in place of resonator ?

I think xpipe because it will be more raspier but than again straight pipes would have a better flow.

Straight pipes actually have worse flow. The exhaust pulses from each bank mixing in the x-pipe actually improves flow. Straight pipes leave a low pressure pulse in between each high pressure pulse which increases backpressure.
