wipers

Are anyone elses wipers retarted? mine were chattering and being loud and not whipeing well at all. I replaced the blades with new mercedes ones and they were fine for a few rain storms but a month later are doing the same thing again.

Anyone have some input on this?

Oh dear. Just wipe the wiper blades down. Dust and other particulate matter builds up along the wipers as you use them, which doesn't allow for a smooth wipe whenever you use them. I had that problem when I got my car off the lot. Just wiped it down with a wet cloth. Haven't had an issue since.

On the other hand, if your wipers were old, then they probably needed to be replaced. If you constantly park your car outside in hot weather, then the rubber might crack and then cause the wipers to not perform so well. (In that case it's good that you replaced them)

I know MB had a TSB for the wipers on the W209. They were having skipping/scuffing problems. The solution is to bend the wiper in the right way changing the angle.

Might be embedded particles in your front windshield. Try claying and polishing it.

I think I got some car wax dust on my windshield when it started making a horrible noise.

Seems that I tried to get it off with windex and it didn't work.

Got a rock in the windshield and had the glass replaced. New glass very quiet so it must have been that wax.

I didn't intentionally put wax on the glass and wonder if it blew up from the hood or maybe came off the roof when washing.

I've had decent luck with Bon Ami on my BMW's and would probably try it on my MB.

the only issues I have with the wipers are the plastic end caps and hinge covers which tends to crack and fall off easily.

I have some problems too with the wiper on the driver side.
I would like to swap them but I couldn't figure out how to dismantle.
