Question tire chip on 09 C-300

just found this chip on rear passenger tire..
is it dangerous?
can it be repaired?
should i have the tire replaced?

I don't have the tire insurance.....

i had the same thing,, MB dealer fked my RIMS up about 4 months ago, but as long as u don't see the metal treads, you should be fine, and glue that piece back haha, it'll make it look a lot better

It looks to be the wheel protection bead that runs around the rim. I wouldn't think it would be a problem unless it goes further and deeper than what your pic shows. I would either trim it or glue it in place to keep it from getting caught on anything or maybe even making a bit of wind noise.

I have the same thing too, I was told to use glue to hold it down, as it is just cosmetic.
The sidewalls are very strong and you souldn't be worried unless the cut is deep enough so that you could see layers in the tire.

its only a problem if it begins to bulge outwards or if you can see the steel belts. your is fine, i have the same thing on my pirellis.
