Based on your fuel door label, it looks like a cold inflation pressure of 29 psi for fronts and 32 psi for rear tires.

Which is a little strange in that my 204 recommends 28/33. Is yours a 4door sedan 204 or one of the other models?

MY door sill says 30 front 35 rear. The fuel cap states +5 psi for 100 mph + driving. I think...I wanna check now lol. I'm running 35/40

32 psi all round.

Reasons: Increase front for sharper handling and better road feedback. Cut a little at rear because no one is sitting back 99% of time.

double checked, fuel door and driver's door both state 30/35 in my car. The thing I don't get is why is the recommended psi shown in the door the same as the max load psi in the gas tank cover. It's a 2009 C300 4Matic Sport Sedan on factory Michelin Pilot HXMX M4 staggered width tires.

sorry about the large pictures. I tried to resize in the post editor but they just keep going back to the original res.

Doubt it matters but the car is equipped with P1,P2, MM, etc...

dc,

Very puzzeling.

The only thing that I see different is that you've got a 4Matic.

By any chance, are you running runflats?

Which brand and model tires came with your car?

Different pressures depending on which OE wheels. For example, my 18s call for 33/38 but I like 35psi in back for a slightly better ride. My Y-rated Bridgestone RE050As (140 treadwear rating) at 22K miles still have 7/32 tread remaining.

I figured it would be that reason. I've seen the W204 come with continental and michelins so far. (courtesy car and my car) The thing is though, I've seen posted on this forum that u.s. spec luxury models to not come with staggered width tires, yet the loaner cars at helms bros. bayside list 30/35 as the max psi in the fuel door.

So here is another question. It looks like that every W204 has a different tire pressure on the door sill. So if you change you tire brand, what tire pressure would you use?

What don't you understand? They're both showing max load PSI. The recommended PSI = max load PSI, just to cover your *** in case you decide to carry a lot of load but forget to adjust the pressure.

You're original question was what psi others run. I believe the answers you received back were across the board, but unfortunately then also received what responders believe they new, wanted to apply generally and for whatever reason wanted to label as 'should be' pressures.

The sticker on my door, for example (as someone previously mentioned) pertain specifically to the tires installed. It lists 39F & 45R, but that is normally a max cold pressure (although not specified).

Inflating to higher pressures, even to specific tire maximums listed on their sidewalls, can assist even wear across the tires if you're hard into the corners regularly (so they do not wear on the outer tread sides, primarily the outer) as well as to protect the joy in the life of the carcass).

Going into to such areas of specificity or further starts requiring customized breaks/ track of your alignment (caster, camber primarily).

4matic/all wheel drive gets just a bit more complicated, take the type of drive system and category of tire into account.

The best all around guideline I've found over the years I'd like to share is a 10% increase in pressure from cold to
hot. But that's nominal, not to assist specific driving or performance needs. The same applies for motorcycles, extremely well so I know.

This is is what I have learned and my own actual experience. I hope it helps.

YOU SHOULD MENTION what model you have; c300 sport vs luxury have different tires.

C180 vs C350 will have differents pressures

ETC//

You may have missed my implication on 'shoulds'. The string was to respond to what people are running. I responded to that, shared the knowledge I had gained and been passed down to me, as well as my experience (btw w/ E350, E63, C63 & C300s).

I did refer to other considerations for 4matics, again implying there are other factors.

Heading down your path you should have also noted any mods, different wheel sizes etc. not to mention the year/series of the car.

But then all those relate back to the sticker on the door, pertinent to the tires installed as well as Merc of course keeping in mind what model their applying the recommendation la to as well. I'd say they know much better if not best. After all isn't that why we like their cars?

Perhaps I need to not make such subtle implications, clearly stating anything so inferences don't have to be realized made. That would go against my grain on shoulds though.

Not to mention I'd be contributing to the malaise of thinking for ourselves, regardless of how un popular that has become.

I'm a new member to this blog, and don't often participate in many. Now I recall why.

I haven't had time to read the entire thread with it's comments, and I don't intend to.

You are correct; as for your participation, if you cannot deal with others mentalities, then there is no need to go further. Forums are a place of interaction, and working together to help other people is a large part of it. If you feel "higher" than others, or cannot handle their "lack of thinking," then this definitely is not the place for you. But remember, next time when you are looking for help, there aren't many more options than reading about others experiences and questions on forums.

I'm not here to start your forum experience with a bad word. We are here to help each other, and the more the merrier. But respect other people's opinions. Unless they are trolls, of course.

You're asking for respect from someone you JUST YELLED AT WITH ALL CAPS, for literally no reason. Your words do not match your actions.

Chill, champ. I was yelling at everyone that didn't mention any of their models or trims, not him. Just because my post was under his doesn't mean I was talking directly to him.

Listening to the suggestions in the sticky would alleviate this issue.

C300 sport.

We just had some temperatures in the upper 30's and my tire pressure warning lights came on. I run 28 in front, 32 in rear.
With cold temps, they drop to 23 and 25 respectively. Within 15 or 20 minutes of driving, they slowly climb back up.

Is this an actually pressure problem with the computer, or is the cold temperatures impacting them this much?

thanks!
