new front struts...settling time??

dealer had to replace both front struts because of a clunking noise, but now the front end seems to sit higher than normal. is there a settling time for struts?? dealer says this is the case. I drove 40 miles so far and they still seem to remain "unsettled".

It looks good to me. Looks normal. Can you elaborate on the clunking sound. How often did it happen, which side of the car? I have a clunking noise from the front right wheel that only happens when the car comes to a stop like at a red light, stop sign, etc. It does not make the noise when accelerating from a red light.

I compared it to other C300's on the lot, mine sits about 3/4" higher. Hopefully it settles. The clunking was when I came to fast stop on rough roads...when the front wheels would hit a bump or rough patch while braking, there was a clunk.

Needless to say, after replacing both front struts, the noise is still there. Dealer found one of my control arms is loose, dealing with that now, pain in the butt.

It takes about a month for springs to settle completely so i'd say the same for struts.

Could this be the issue with the height of the struts? Dealer seemed to have used some W212(New E-class) parts. Can anyone verify these part numbers for me that were installed on my car? I googled them, but just need clarification.

(4) 204-323-04-38 Dust caps
(2) 204-320-12-73 Bearings
(2) 204-320-05-30 Shock Absorbers
(2) 204-321-02-84 Shims
(2) 204-981-00-25 Ball Bearings

*These dont make sense, they're for the W212, new E-class*

(2) 212-323-03-92 Boot
(2) 212-322-01-84 Shim
