Question about the Mercedes COMMAND System/Harmon Kardon Sound
Hi All,
Recently, I had the opportunity to demo the 2011 Navigation Professional System in the BMW 3-Series. Everyone was always complaining about iDrive, but I found it to be good. I thought voice control was a bit off, as I had to repeat myself 3 times to get directions to a business, and even then it confused directions with a radio station lol. Furthermore the computers voice in English sounded like it had a German accent when pronouncing things. Granted, its easier when you input stuff using the iDrive wheel, but using voice is more convenient. I liked the 8.8 inch multi-color screen and the details displayed when in large cities (buildings etc). Individual Sound w Dirac Live sounded quite well. Didn't get a chance to test Iphone music because I lacked the cable.
I've also tried the touch screen TomTom Nav's and they are very easy to use, but they are very basic.
My Question: How is the 2011 C350 Mercedes COMMAND Nav System and the Harmon Kardon Sound System? Is voice control easy to use? How is the Nav display? Harmon kardon sound crisp and clear? How is it using the Iphone 3Gs/4? How would you compare it to the BMW Nav Professional and Individual Sound w Dirac Live?
Thanks in advance.

I have a 2009 comand with harmon kardon.
The voice control I found to be very accurate, I can shoot a phone number at it super fast and it picks up every number, I almost never have to repeat myself.
As for sound, the max volume i feel should be a little higher but overall it sounds great.

The HK sound system in my C300 sounds great. I would say that it just about compares to Bose. The voice control is GREAT. I never have to repeat myself and even speaking very softly it picks up on what you are saying. Tonight I was even driving about 50 miles per hour with the sunroof open and 2 windows down and it picked up what I was saying and I was not even raising my voice.
The display for the nav system is just ok. I've seen better and I've seen worse. Its acceptable.
Overall, I'm glad I got the HK and nav option.
