Carlsson simply replaces the box filter with a high flow box filter. There's a lot of debate how to create the best effect, but the consensus seems to be the OEM setup is pretty much optimal, and any redesign that would functionally create an improvement would require a radical reconfiguration of the engine bay.

then in that case what can i do to give my car a bit more of an agressive sound without realy making it obvious that i changed something?? im only looking for a slight amplification in the volume. and a slight hp increase?

Delete your resonator and install an X-pipe (~$200), replace your paper air filter with high flow filters (~$100), and then have your chip performance tuned ($750-1,500). All very subtle, the X-pipe will make the engine roar a bit louder, and you'll get from 15-30 hp increase from the improved air flow and ignition curves.

+1, if your looking for quick and easy hp.. ecu tune, high flow air filters, and exhaust mod.. it will be subtle soo dont expect a drastic change..if you do these 3 mods all together you will feel a difference, ecu tune on a c300 gives about 15hp, x-pipe gives the car a bit more rumble.
