Installing new tire pressure sensors

I used the search function and couldn't find an answer to this question... How do you install tire pressure sensors?

I replaced my factory 17" wheels with factory AMG 18" wheels. I'm now getting a tire pressure error. Is it possible to install the sensors from my original factory 17" rims on my new AMG wheels? Or is this something I need to visit the dealer for?

I think I found the answer to my question (searching Google). It looks like in order to replace a sensor you have to remove the tire from the rim.

I wish I knew this before purchasing the AMG wheels. I guess now I have to bring all 4 of my old wheels to the dealer and pay for 8 mount and balances and installation of the 4 sensors from my old wheels on my new wheels.

you don't really need to go to the dealer to do so and I'd actually recommend against it as they'll charge you an arm and a leg. Most wheel shops can do it for you. Just call and ask about their mounting machine first before you go if they're using the old metal mounters or the newer plastic ones that won't scratch your wheels.
