Brake Job

Ok guys, I am getting ready to have my front brakes done.

I have an 08 C300 with the drilled rotors.

Do you recommend staying with OEM pads or performance pads?

My MB tech recommends I stay with the MB rotors. What do you guys think?

I just ordered the EBC Red Ceramic Brakes. Tried to order the Yellow's but EBC told me they are not in production yet (rears are out in Europe they said). Will let u know how they work out.

If your opting for performance pads, I would recommend doing front and rear at the same time. I wouldn't recommend running performance pads in the front and stock pads in the rear.

If your going to run performance pads, I would also recommend running a higher boiling point brake fluid, like Motul RPF 600 or ATE SuperBlue.

Hope this helps! Good Luck on your brakes!

Another round of ICE
I was about to try Akebono Euro 1340/1341 but my independent shop said they were noisy at low speeds. Any experiences, anyone?

I hear all ceramic pads are noisy until they settle into the rotors.

I have Akebono ceramics on my 7. Yes, they are noisy in the beginning as they break in...figure about the first tank of gas. After that, smooth sailing and zero brake dust.

Have done mine last week at 48000 km, have ordered EBC greenstuff....

Also look at your brake discs, i was surprised that they go so fast... Think i need to replace the discs in 10000km... Its better to do them together with the pads.

I like the EBC, must say its not a huge difference with braking, but they leave less brake
Dust on my wheels.

You will need Redstuff...

Did you guys knwo that all the brake pads are the same from a C180 to a C300 ??
