You can always just have the body shop paint it for you. Fairly common practice. Bake the headlights, open up, paint, close her up, plug back in.

You don't HAVE to bake it. I have seen people use heat guns. You have to do something to loosen the adhesive.

I've never seen one in person. Are the turn signal sections still chrome?

They are standard if you DON'T get the intelligent lighting package I thought. Basically auto-leveling, turning xenons or black housings. Your choice but you can't have both from the dealership.

They are not standard here is AUS. I've just rang them yesterday about this actually, and they said in the 2011 model it "might" come as optional. but at this time its impossible to get it here.

When I ordered my 2011 C350, my dealer said the black headlamp inlays will come with it, even with the Lighting Package that I got.....

My 2011 C300 with Xenon package does not have the black headlight housings even though they told me it will when i placed the order. It is only on the non-xenon cars.

X3 and 2012 C coming soon
Hopefully we won't have to wait too long to buy just the lights .

A few months ago, I was told by the ebayer that sells the weird LED tails that they will be offering headlights with black housings.

i think its standard for special edition avantgarde 2009 model here in AUS, but not available anymore after they replace it with cgi model. just go with Lamin-x it looks good and protect the headlight as well...
