2011 C-Class uses different clips
Last night I just replaced my sister's license plates lights with AZN optics's 6000k LED. I got to the part where I have to pull out the clips to pull down the trunk liner. In my 2009 C-class it is a circle long pin that holds in a round clip. You pull out the long circle pin and then you can pull out the clip because the internal pressure is lost, stopping the clips from gripping.
Now I don't know if this changed in 2010, but my sister's 2011 w204 has clips that are the same size, but it is now all one piece with 3 slits around the edges. At first I pried a bit by getting a flat head behind each slit and pulled down, but it was very time-intensive and that one clip no longer holds as tight as it used to. I then resorted to just pulling down the liner with brute force and the clips popped out (these clips still hold well). Much faster, but I would like to know the appropriate way so that I don't break anything. Also, there are some areas on the car under the hood that these clips are present where I would be unable to get leverage behind the piece and pull up. Is there a special tool? This has turned easy clips, into clips that are almost impossible to remove by hand, and a pain in the butt.
